7 Life Choices You Will Regret Years From Now - Here's Why

Remember that the happiest people are not those getting more, but those giving more. ―H. Jackson Brown Jr.

5. Keeping your feelings in shut-down mode.

holding emotions back

Forcibly suppressing your emotions will do you no good in the long run. Your feelings are an indicative factor of how you sense the world around you and what kind of impact it has on you. Don’t shut them down, or shut people out. These will make you full of regret and remorse later.

The long-term pain suffered by suppressing emotions is far greater than the short-term pain of confronting them. ― Sam Owen

Suppressing feelings might temporarily seem easier and healthier but for the long run, keeping your feelings under control is extremely noxious.

6. Discarding your dreams.

Your dreams and ambitions are an integral aspect determining your choice of career and no matter how difficult it may seem, it is worth trying your level best. However un-achievable your goals might be, grind till your last drop of sweat.

People around you might discard your dreams, it is important that you do not. Whether people believe in your dreams or not, what matters is whether you yourself have a strong belief in them because you are the one who will bring them to fruition.

7. Trying to stop change of any kind from happening.

change is good

When you stop changes from happening you are sabotaging self-empowerment. If you do not evolve with time, you are limiting yourself to the old you, to your old potentials, to your old dreams, to your old habits.

Change can be scary as hell for many, and this is the sole reason many people try to stop any kind of change from happening to them in the first place. However, life itself is in a state of constant change, and you are no exception. Keep that in mind.

Rejecting changes, just because the ‘new’ is risky and unpredictable will not only stagnant your life, but also discourage you personal growth.

One must simply be watchful to not let others take over their life and most importantly, prioritize. Once you know what matters the most to you, you will automatically be able to perform actions in the manner which you exactly desire. You will automatically be on the way to have a better life for yourself, and be happy and contented.
